The land where this building is located results from the Specific Modification of the General Metropolitan Plan of the land, previously built for industrial use (the old Metalarte factory that has been demolished), located in Sant Joan Despí, at the corner of Rius y Taulet Street with Avenida de Barcelona, which originally formed part of the macro-block called Femsa that bordered the municipal term of Cornellà de Llobregat.

Now this Femsa land, with the transformation planned in the General Plan, has been designated for residential, squares and urban gardens uses, and has been divided into different blocks crossed by Bon Viatge Street, one of which is occupied by the Metalarte premises.

It is a multi-family building with 80 apartments arranged in 3 staircases. Stairs A and B, with 5 apartments per floor, on the ground floor and 4 upper floors, totaling 25 apartments per stair, will be 50 apartments. Staircase C with 5 apartments per floor, but from P1 to P6, totaling 30 apartments.

It consists of a parking lot with independent access from the outside located in the 3 basement levels. Commercial premises on ground floor but only on staircase C.

All the staircases and parking have access from Rius y Taulet street. The commercial premises, from Rius y Taulet or from Avda. Barcelona.

All the residential floors, except the ground floor, due to the arrangement of the building entrances, have the same layout of 5 apartments per staircase, with a program of entrance hall, living-dining room, kitchen, or living-dining room-kitchen, two or three bedrooms, and one or two bathrooms.

The houses have balconies and terraces that extend the living space outdoors and are treated on the facade with sliding aluminium slat panels, which creates an outdoor space with greater privacy.

The vertical communication of the building is achieved through a vertical core formed by the staircase and the serviceable elevator in blocks A and B, and a staircase and 2 elevators in block C, which has 6 floors and connects all the floors and the roof where the technical services and the community public swimming pool are located.

On the rooftop, the necessary elements for telecommunications installations and chimneys are located, as well as solar collectors for the production of sanitary hot water and air conditioning machines. Also, part of the roof is accessible to residents and features swimming pools and a calisthenics area.

Blocks A and B share the swimming pool space as it is located on the same fifth floor or roof of the blocks, and block C will have the swimming pool on its roof, floor nº7 from street level.

The main facade on Rius y Taulet Street is oriented northeast, and the rear facade facing the interior courtyard is oriented southwest.

With the housing project, a square project was also carried out, which occupies part of the lot and was handed over to the City Council once it had been built.
