We Launch the 3X Urban Development Project

A complex project and, at the same time, a challenge for all the stakeholders involved in this area, which borders the Besòs River and the Litoral Beach.

As the authors of the park urban development project —LANDLAB, Landscape Laboratory; AldayJover; and Aquática Ingeniería Civil, S.L.— we presented our proposal for the future coastal park in the Tres Chimeneas area to the rest of the audience, which included Batlleiroig; SBS SIMON I BLANCO, S.L., authors of the Road Infrastructure Urbanization Project; TYPSA, responsible for the water management studies; the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), through its Water Cycle and Infrastructure departments, responsible for drafting the new Llevant Collector project and the regeneration of the Besòs River mouth; as well as the consultancy elRisell SCCL, responsible for citizen participation in the Park project.

The workshop highlighted the opportunities offered by the Park project: the creation of a resilient, inclusive and ecological public space, rooted in its surrounding environment—an environment shaped by river, coastal and urban systems in direct contact with the municipalities of Sant Adrià de Besòs and Badalona. The combination of all these infrastructures represents both an opportunity and a challenge for the 3X area and for the final stretch of the Barcelonès coastline.
