Project resilient landscapes
Miriam García, founding partner of LANDLAB, participates in the Study Day on the project and management of coastal territories of the Mediterranean, promoted within the framework of the PRIN COSTA|Med project by Università RomaTre.
The event is conceived as a platform for open and multidisciplinary dialogue, capable of connecting technical-scientific knowledge, project culture, and the political and regulatory dimensions of planning, with the aim of contributing to the construction of shared visions and operational strategies for the future of the Mediterranean coasts.
Along the Mediterranean coasts, some of the most urgent challenges of our time are concentrated, imposing demands on the design, planning, and management of the territory. The increasing anthropogenic pressure, intensive urbanization, coastal erosion, and, above all, the effects of climate change and rising sea levels are radically transforming the delicate relationship between land and sea, redefining geographies, landscapes, and forms of habitability.
Based on these premises, on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the headquarters of the Rome Architects' Association, a Study Day on the project and management of coastal territories in the Mediterranean will be held, promoted within the framework of the PRIN "COSTA Med" project, under the scientific responsibility of Professor Maria Grazia Cianci (Principal Investigator), and carried out in collaboration with the Rome Architects' Association.
The initiative aims to provide an opportunity for the exchange between disciplinary approaches, design experiences, and strategic visions, with the conviction that only an integrated reading of coastal processes can offer effective responses to emerging issues.
The morning will be structured into three thematic panels, each with two or three interventions, and is aimed at architects, urban planners, researchers, students, and professionals from the public and private sectors involved in the transformation of coastal areas.
The event is presented as a platform for open and multidisciplinary dialogue, capable of articulating technical-scientific knowledge, project culture, and the political and regulatory dimension of planning, with the aim of contributing to the construction of shared visions and operational strategies for the future of the Mediterranean coasts.
