Just as the city of Barcelona cannot be understood without its coastline, without its port origins, its future will be marked by its ability to manage the unpredictable effects of climate change in this unique space.

The coastal stretch between Barceloneta, the city's beaches, and the Besòs River area is the most iconic and heavily used section of the coast.

Although the scenarios regarding the effects of climate change on this maritime front by the year 2100 are not conclusive, as they are subject to global dynamics related to the mitigation of global warming, various studies highlight that in the coming years there will be intense changes in climate-related phenomena associated with the sea.

Far from viewing these climatic dynamics as a risk, it is proposed to use them as an opportunity to reconcile the relationship between the city and its inhabitants with the sea.
