Jordi Miró receives the Margalló Award 2025

LANDLAB, awarded the Margalló 2025 Prize for its commitment to adaptive and resilient urban planning. Founded by Miriam García García and Jordi Miró Rábago, it has been recognized with the Palma de Castelldefels Award: Margalló 2025, within the framework of the Homage Awards to Antoni Gaudí, awarded annually in Castelldefels. The award was received by Jordi Miró, partner at LANDLAB, during the ceremony held on June 10 at Espai Can Llopart, coinciding with the anniversary of the death of the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí.

This prestigious award distinguishes projects and initiatives in architecture and urbanism that embody values of sustainability, innovation, resilience, and environmental care. In this sense, LANDLAB has been recognized for its focus on urbanism committed to well-being, circularity, almost zero emissions, and the environmental and social regeneration of the territory. Their work is distinguished by combining research, design, and action from an ecological and inclusive vision of urban space.

The Antoni Gaudí Tribute Awards have the margalló as their symbol, an endemic plant of Mediterranean regions and representative of the landscape of Castelldefels, noted for its ability to regrow after fires. This resilience becomes a metaphor for the type of urbanism that LANDLAB promotes: regenerative, adaptive, and life-centered.

In this edition, other prominent figures in the architectural and urban landscape were also awarded, such as Enrique Rovira-Beleta, Vicente Guallart, Salvador Rueda, Fidel Vázquez, Robert de Miguel, and the citizen action team of Castelldefels.

The event culminated with the presentation of various urban regeneration projects, social accessibility, and citizen participation, in the context of Castelldefels 2025 and in harmony with the preparatory acts for the Centenary of the death of Antoni Gaudí (2026) and the designation of Barcelona and its Metropolitan Area as the World Capital of Architecture.
