Humedales del Sur

The objective of this work is to highlight the landscapes of the outskirts of Elche, including the natural parks of "El Hondo" and the salt flats of "Santa Pola." This area possesses an exceptional cultural, environmental, and strategic heritage that requires territorial strategies to halt the landscape degradation the area is experiencing.

The strategies focused on two areas: Water and its landscapes. The "El Hondo" reserve and the "Santa Pola" salt flats are a living example of the Mediterranean irrigation system characteristic of this agriculture that has spread all over the world.

The Elche Field: A comprehensive landscape architecture project is proposed to improve the image of the outskirts of the city of Elche by incorporating uses such as ecotourism.
