This document is one of the products derived from the Knowledge for Development Project (KDP) “Management of Climate Change-Related Risks on the Coasts of Latin America and the Caribbean,” fully funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID, 2023).

The objective of this Guide is to facilitate access to the knowledge, methodologies, and tools necessary to conduct an analysis of the physical risks of climate change on the coast, as well as to evaluate different flexible adaptation strategies that allow for adequate planning and implementation within a framework of uncertainty. Therefore, it is intended to serve as a reference for integrating the potential effects of climate into coastal policies, strategies, and management plans in the short, medium, and long term, including adaptation and risk management plans.
