Costa da Morte
Methodology and study of intangible values for their incorporation in the delimitation of protected natural areas, applied in Costa da Morte, Galicia

This research project was carried out for Europarc España and proposes a methodology to incorporate intangible values into the delimitation of protected natural areas. To this end, a series of studies and essays were analyzed that shed light on how to identify and evaluate the intangible elements of the landscape with a minimum of objectivity and, therefore, possible consensus.
These analyzed experiences were grouped into three sets of intangible values (well-being and tranquility, culture and identity, and aesthetic feeling), and we subjected them to experimentation to unveil the most interesting aspects, the successes, and also the mistakes, in our opinion, of these proposals. To this end, we conducted a series of trials and mappings within a very unique territory of the Galician Coast, the municipality of Ponteceso in the Costa da Morte.
